When Ricky and I first set out on our coffee truck adventure, we never anticipated how quickly it would take off. What started as a passion project, fueled by our love for great coffee and community connection, soon grew into a full-blown business. The coffee truck was our dream come true—and, at the same time, our biggest challenge.
As the demand for our coffee grew, so did our workload. We found ourselves constantly on the go, serving up lattes and cappuccinos, traveling from event to event, and balancing the day-to-day operations. While we loved every minute of it, there was one thing we began to realize: we needed a way to slow down, catch our breath, and still offer our delicious coffee to those who couldn’t catch us on the move.
That’s when we came up with the idea of creating a coffee cart.
Why a Coffee Cart?
Ricky and I wanted something that would allow us to still share our passion for coffee without feeling so overwhelmed by the demands of the truck. The coffee truck required so much time and effort, from setting up to packing down, and there were times when we couldn’t commit to the bigger events or private bookings because of the sheer logistics of it all. We loved the idea of having a smaller, more flexible option—something we could use for farmers markets, pop-up events, and even private gatherings without all the heavy lifting.
The coffee cart gave us the ability to keep our brewing business thriving while also carving out some personal time. It was like the best of both worlds: we could stay connected to our customers and community, but also have the freedom to step back when we needed to.
Building the Dream
The decision to make our coffee cart a reality was a big one. There was a lot of planning and research. Ricky took the lead on designing the cart—it had to be functional, but also reflect the vibe of our coffee truck. We wanted it to feel like an extension of what we had already created, but with a more intimate, personal touch.
We kept it simple, but intentional. The cart has enough space for our espresso machine, grinders, and all the necessary brewing tools.
Finding Balance
One of the best things about the coffee cart is the flexibility it offers us. Instead of constantly running around with the truck, we’re able to create a more relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. We can park the cart in one spot for a few hours and get to know our regulars, rather than worrying about rushing to the next location. It’s been a great way for us to reconnect with our customers on a more personal level—plus, we’re able to breathe a little easier between events.
For Ricky and me, the coffee cart has become a symbol of balance. It allows us to continue doing what we love—making great coffee and sharing it with others—while also finding moments to step back, recharge, and be present in our everyday lives.
What’s Next for Us?
Looking ahead, we’re excited to see where the coffee cart will take us. We’ve already seen it become a hit at local markets and small events, and we can’t wait to explore even more ways to bring our coffee experience to new places.
The coffee truck will always be a huge part of our story, but the coffee cart has given us a new chapter. And we’re more than ready for it.
Thanks for joining us on this wild ride! Whether you catch us at a market or our next pop-up event, we can’t wait to serve you a cup of coffee, share a smile, and keep this dream alive.
